Purpose/Objective
Owns the live commercial position of assigned contracts the working contracts authority who protects the project's entitlements, controls change and keeps the commercial record defensible.
Manages claims and variations day-to-day and supervises the contract administration team.
Key Responsibilities of Role
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION & COMPLIANCE Administer assigned contracts to their terms notices, obligations, milestones and time-bars.
Ensure correspondence and instructions are issued correctly and on time to preserve entitlements.Maintain the contract, correspondence and change registers as the commercial system of record.
CHANGE, CLAIMS & VARIATION MANAGEMENT Assess, price and process variations and change orders; protect the project against unpriced scope creep.
Build and defend the project's claims and counter-claims with evidence and contemporaneous records.Track contractor claims and manage exposure on extensions of time and prolongation.
COMMERCIAL RISK & RECOVERY Monitor commercial risk LDs, retention, guarantees, insurances and contractor solvency.
Coordinate with CFMC so commercial positions are reflected correctly in the cost baseline.Support dispute avoidance, negotiation and, where needed, formal resolution.
TEAM SUPERVISION & STANDARDS Plan and review the CAD team's work; uphold record discipline and turnaround.
Be first escalation point and the interface to Legal, CFMC and site commercial teams.Standardise contract templates, registers and notice formats.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's in Engineering / Law; contracts (FIDIC) / quantity surveying certification preferred 10-14 years in contract administration, claims and commercial management on large EPC / infrastructure projects, including supervisory experience .
