01Responsibilities
Define and evolve the front-end stack, patterns, and conventions.Make decisions on state management, component design, performance strategy, and build pipelines.Build and maintain scalable, reusable components and patterns that support multiple products and use casesBuild responsive, mobile-first web applications that serve thousands of merchants and end users.Obsess over load times, interaction quality, and polish.Lead and mentor a small team of front-end developers.Run code reviews, establish standards, and create an environment where engineers grow.Work with back-end teams to design and integrate RESTful APIs.Own the contract between the front end and back end.Partner with product designers to translate Figma/design specs into pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces.Contribute to and maintain a shared design system.Champion front-end testing culture using Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.Ensure critical user flows are covered.Monitor and optimise Core Web Vitals, bundle sizes, and rendering performance.Set up tooling to catch regressions early.
02Requirements
Deep expertise in the first two is non-negotiable; the rest you should be comfortable with or ready to pick up quickly.Must-have: Next.js, Tailwind CSS.Core: React, TypeScript, HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript (ES6+).Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress (or equivalent).Tooling: Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Webpack/ Turbopack.Collaboration: JIRA, Confluence, Agile/Scrum workflows.Nice to have: Familiarity with Figma, analytics/A/B testing platforms, monorepo tooling. .
