Role Overview
The Logistics Manager EXIM & Supply Chain Operations will be responsible for managing end-to-end import/export logistics, customs coordination, freight management, transportation network, and regulatory documentation for domestic and international operations.
The role requires a strong professional with deep expertise in EXIM logistics, CHA coordination, LC documentation, tariff classifications, freight negotiations, shipping operations, and trucking network management. The candidate should be capable of handling complex chemical and hazardous material logistics while ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and timely movement of materials.
Key Responsibilities
EXIM Logistics Management
Manage end-to-end import and export logistics operations for raw materials, chemicals, metals, machinery, and finished goods.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and overseas logistics partners.
Ensure timely customs clearance and shipment movement for international consignments.
Monitor shipment schedules, transit timelines, and freight costs.
Customs & CHA Coordination
Manage relationships with CHA (Custom House Agents), ports, ICDs, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure smooth customs clearance for import/export shipments.
Handle HS code classification, tariff structures, duty optimization, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to DGFT, Customs, and FEMA regulations.
LC & Trade Documentation
Handle Letter of Credit (LC) documentation and coordinate with banks for trade finance activities.
Review and manage shipping documents including:
Bill of Lading
Commercial Invoice
Packing List
COO
Insurance documents
BOE
Shipping Bill
Ensure documentation accuracy to avoid shipment delays and financial discrepancies.
Domestic Logistics & Trucking Operations
Build and manage a strong trucking and transportation network across India.
Coordinate movement of hazardous chemicals, metals, and industrial materials safely and efficiently.
Manage fleet vendors, transporters, and warehouse logistics partners.
Ensure on-time dispatches from plants and warehouses.
Cost Optimization & Vendor Management
Negotiate freight contracts and transportation rates with logistics vendors.
Drive logistics cost reduction initiatives while maintaining service quality.
Develop logistics MIS, freight dashboards, and operational tracking systems.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
Ensure compliance with safety standards and hazardous material transportation norms.
Work closely with procurement, SCM, production, finance, and commercial teams.
Manage audits and logistics-related statutory requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
1518 years of experience in logistics, EXIM operations, and supply chain management within chemical, metals, recycling, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
Strong handson experience in import/export logistics and international freight operations.
Excellent understanding of:
CHA operations
Customs clearance
LC documentation
Tariff and HS code classifications
Freight forwarding
DGFT & FEMA compliance
Strong domestic trucking and transporter network management experience.
Experience in handling hazardous chemical logistics will be preferred.
Strong negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in fastpaced manufacturing and industrial environments.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates from Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Battery Recycling, Metals, Mining, Industrial Manufacturing, Petrochemicals, or Process Industries will be highly preferred. .
