Position : Costing Manager
Location : Chennai (Head Office)

Job Purpose :
- To manage and control product costing activities in SAP, ensuring accurate standard costing, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support effective decision-making. The role is responsible for driving cost efficiency, monitoring product and factory profitability, and ensuring accurate monthly cost closure and inventory valuation. It also involves budgeting, variance analysis, and providing actionable insights to improve overall business profitability in a manufacturing environment.
Candidate Profile :
- Qualification : CA / CWA (Finalist)
- Experience : 8-10 years of post-qualification industry experience in costing
- Strong Experience of SAP / SAP HANA is mandatory
- Team handling experience is preferred but not mandatory
Job Description :
SAP Activities :
- Define standard costs in SAP for new products and ensure the correctness of routing for new products, including machine and labour hour definitions.
- Support SAP IT system enhancements and testing activities.
- Perform monthly SAP CO closing in coordination with factories/zones and execute CO closing runs in SAP for cost actualization.
- Handle product costing activities in SAP.
Analysis :
- Analyze the impact of under/over absorption of fixed costs on COGS due to product variations.
- Evaluate and explain variations in material costs with respect to material rate variance, material consumption, overhead absorption, etc.
- Prepare and verify new product pricing and cost sheets; analyze product/SKU-wise profitability.
Reporting :
- Prepare product-wise and channel-wise profitability reports and provide suggestions to management for improving company profitability.
- Plan and prepare the annual budget and provide monthly updates.
- Prepare FG valuation files.
- Conduct factory MIS reviews.
- Prepare any ad hoc reports required by management. .
