Mainframe Developer

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and related mainframe technologies
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical designs for batch and online programs
- Develop, test, and debug COBOL programs, CICS transactions, and batch job schedules
- Work with DB2/VSAM data structures for data access, updates, and performance optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including batch job failures and abends, within defined SLAs
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and support system/integration testing activities
- Optimize existing mainframe programs and batch cycles for performance and resource efficiency
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including program specifications and run books
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mainframe modernization and integration initiatives
- Support production support activities including on-call rotations for critical batch cycles
