Job Description Accounts Manager
Reports To
Managing Director / COO
Job Description The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the hotel's financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, controlling costs, managing cash flow, and supporting management with financial analysis for effective business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely closing of accounts.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Verify supplier invoices and process payments.
Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
Reconcile vendor and customer accounts regularly.
Banking & Cash Management
Monitor daily cash flow.
Reconcile bank accounts.
Manage petty cash and cash deposits.
Coordinate with banks regarding financial transactions.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance
Verify monthly payroll in coordination with the HR department.
Ensure timely payment of: GST / TDS / PF / ESI / PT / LWF.
Coordinate statutory audits and compliance activities.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Prepare annual budgets and departmental forecasts.
Monitor expenses against budget and Prepare variance analysis reports
Analyze operational costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
Audit & Compliance
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
Financial Reporting
Prepare of P&L statement, Balance sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Daily Revenue reports.
Present financial reports to management with recommendations.
Inventory & Asset Control
Monitor inventory valuation.
Verify stock reconciliation.
Maintain fixed asset register.
Supervise periodic physical verification of assets.
Team Management
Supervise Accounts Executives and Accounts Assistants.
Allocate work and monitor performance.
Train team members on accounting procedures and compliance.
Coordination
Work closely with all the departments
Support operational departments on financial matters.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) (or) M.Com / MBA (Finance) preferred
Experience
510 years of experience in Accounts and Finance
Minimum 23 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Hotel industry experience preferred
