Job Description :
The role involves designing and developing solutions to support the business needs. Optimizing and tuning existing programs and developing new routines will be an integral part of the profile.
Key Skills Required :
- Strong experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration and SQL/PLpgSQL.
- Hands-on experience in Query Optimization, Performance Tuning, Backup & Recovery, Replication, and HA/DR.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL and other RDBMS/NoSQL databases (Cassandra/Graph DB preferred).
- Hands-on experience in database installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and production support.
- Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Good understanding of Data Modelling, Indexing, and Partitioning.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Shell/Bash scripting is preferred.
- Experience with Database Migration, Data Warehousing, or Big Data technologies is a plus.
- Experience with database automation, monitoring, and deployment is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and production issue resolution skills.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Architect, Design, and develop solutions to support business requirements.
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL database environments, ensure high availability, replication, performance tuning, backup & Recovery, and production support.
- Provide optimal design of database environments, analysing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance.
- Work closely with programming teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Provide innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems.
- Propose the best solution for logical and physical data modelling.
- Perform Administration tasks including DB resource planning and DB tuning.
- Mentor and train junior developers, lead & manage teams.
Additional Requirements :
- Minimum 3 - 4 years of hands-on PostgreSQL and SQL experience is mandatory.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is mandatory.
- Exposure to Data Warehousing or Big Data (6 - 12 months) is preferred. .
