01Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations.
Review financial statements and management reports.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable accounting standards.
Analyze financial results and explain variances to management.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop R2R team members.
Conduct performance reviews and development planning.
Allocate workloads and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
Build a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous learning.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with business units, auditors, controllers, and finance leadership.
Manage client and leadership reviews.
Support internal and external audit requirements.
Resolve accounting and reporting issues through collaboration with stakeholders.
Governance & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor compliance and identify control gaps.
Support risk assessment and remediation activities.
Maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Process Improvement & Transformation
Drive automation and standardization initiatives.
Identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Lead accounting and reconciliation improvement projects.
Leverage ERP and reporting tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Qualifications: Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
Preferred
MBA (Finance)
Chartered Accountant (CA)
CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Experience
8-10 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Record-to-Report operations.
Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and close-cycle management.
Experience managing teams and stakeholder interactions.
Insurance finance/accounting experience preferred where applicable.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
Financial statement preparation and review.
General Ledger (GL) accounting.
Journal entries and reconciliations.
Advanced Microsoft Excel.
ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other General Ledger platforms.
Exposure to reporting and analytics tools such as HFM, BI, Alteryx, or similar is advantageous.
