Summary
Looking for mechanical engineer specializing in refrigeration and lyophilisation (freeze-drying) for maintaining product quality and extending shelf life of Instabites products who can manage thermal systems that remove moisture while preserving nutritional value and texture
Key Responsibilities
- Install, and maintain industrial cooling and air conditioning systems.
- Take full responsibility for freeze-drying equipment, managing critical components like vacuum pumps and PLC modules.
- Controlling the temperature and pressure of water to ensure sublimationremoving ice without it becoming liquid.
- Monitoring primary and secondary drying stages to ensure 97% or more of moisture is removed.
- Implementing rigorous preventive maintenance for vacuum pumps, sensors, and gaskets (e.g., door and O-rings) to prevent microbial contamination.
- Diagnosing and fixing issues like leaky valves or malfunctioning compressors to prevent costly food spoilage.
- Ensuring all equipment follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygienic design standards (e.g., USDA, FDA).
- Managing hazardous waste disposal, such as used oils and refrigerants, to protect the setting and food safety.
Technical Skills Required
- BE & ME in Thermal Fluid Science: Mastery of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and psychrometric charts.
- Equipment Operations: 5 to 10 years experience and Practical knowledge of refrigeration systems and freeze-dryer components like isolation valves and condensers.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: 480,000.00 - 600,000.00 per year
