Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mechanical Engineer to join our organization in Mumbai, India, specializing in data center projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing mechanical systems that support critical data center infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and superior performance of mechanical systems in demanding data center environments.
Design and develop mechanical systems for data center cooling, power distribution, and infrastructure using CAD software and industry-standard tools
Analyze thermal management requirements and create solutions to optimize cooling efficiency and energy consumption
Conduct detailed engineering calculations and simulations to ensure mechanical systems meet performance specifications and safety standards
Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, and testing to verify system functionality and compliance with design specifications
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and operational manuals
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to budgets
Identify and resolve mechanical system issues through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Monitor and evaluate mechanical system performance, recommending improvements for efficiency and reliability
Ensure all mechanical installations comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and data center best practices
Participate in project planning and feasibility studies for new data center initiatives
Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent) for mechanical design and modeling
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling technologies, and thermal management principles specific to data centers
Experience with mechanical equipment selection, sizing, and specification
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and energy efficiency optimization (preferred)
Familiarity with vendor management and equipment procurement processes (preferred)
ASHRAE certification or equivalent mechanical engineering credentials (preferred)
Ability to work effectively in team environments and communicate complex technical information clearly
Additional Information
Solid understanding of data center infrastructure standards and best practices
Demonstrated project management experience with ability to coordinate multiple workstreams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements for data center facilities
