We are seeking a credentialed medical billing professional to serve as a Testifying Medical Billing Expert in complex medical-legal cases. This role is ideal for a senior coder or auditor ready to expand into expert witness work.
Prior testimony experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with strong technical expertise and professional presence.
Requirements
Active certifications through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
Certified Medical Auditor (CPMA) preferred
Advanced coding credential (CPC, CPC-H, or equivalent) preferred
Extensive experience with CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS
Strong knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and fee schedule analysis
Preferred Background
Orthopedic and surgical billing
Hospital (facility and professional) billing
Outpatient and ambulatory surgery billing practices
Responsibilities
Perform detailed billing audits and coding reviews
Prepare clear, defensible expert reports
Provide deposition and/or trial testimony as assigned
We offer mentorship and structured training in expert report writing and testimony preparation.
