Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze E&M; documentation for IP & OP records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
Ensure coding compliance with industry standards, client-specific protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
Utilize ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II classification systems for accurate code assignment.
Maintain minimum productivity and accuracy benchmarks as defined by the organization.
Work closely with auditors, QA, and training teams to enhance coding quality.
Escalate documentation discrepancies or unclear cases for physician clarification.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations.
Support team members in resolving coding-related issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in E&M; coding (IP & OP).
Robust knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II.
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines.
Certification preferred:CPC, CCS, COC, or equivalent (AAPC/AHIMA).
Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation.
Solid communication and analytical skills.
Proficiency in using EMR/EHR and coding tools.
