A dental specialist specialty (handling 2021 guidelines)Certification is mandatoryGood knowledge of medical coding systems, medical terminologies, regulatory requirements, auditing concepts and principlesAssign appropriate codes to each procedure using Current Dental Terminology (CDT), CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level IIDocument treatments and ensure codes meet federal regulations and insurance standardsSubmit relevant information to the patient or insurer for paymentFollow up on unpaid dental claims to ensure the practice receives the correct reimbursementRespond to dental records requests and invoice the requestorWork as part of a team and support billers and AR analysts
