Medical Coder

This position requires 23 years of experience. A CPC certification is mandatory. Additional certifications such as CCS, CIC, or COC will be an added advantage. Analyze and code patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using recognized coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. Ensure that all codes are applied correctly during the billing process, including special cases such as therapies and diagnostic tests. Review and interpret patient records, doctors notes, lab results, and other documentation to determine appropriate codes for services rendered. Ensure coding practices comply with legal and medical regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines). Assist in correcting denied or rejected claims due to coding errors and follow up to ensure payment is received. Accurately input data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and coding software. Stay updated with changes in coding standards, industry regulations, and payer requirements. Qualifications: Candidate must have a bachelors degree in healthcare or related field. At least three years of experience as a medical coder.
