We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.
- Build and run core services for Rates trade booking and trade storage, with a design that can extend across broader FICC products. Own end-to-end delivery for your services: technical design, hands-on development (6070%), CI/CD, production readiness, and operational support (you build it, you run it).
- Engineer for high availability, strong data consistency, and high throughput, including resilience patterns, capacity planning, and performance tuning.Design and implement service interfaces using gRPC/Protobuf and streaming patterns (e.g., HTTP SSE) to integrate with upstream/downstream platforms.
- Ensure robust auditability and controls: versioning of trade changes, traceability, access controls, data retention, and secure-by-design engineering. Drive a step-change in engineering culture: raise standards through design/code reviews, automation, observability, and incident learning, mentoring engineers through practical examples. Partner with Product Owners/BAs and stakeholders to shape requirements into clear user stories and deliver iteratively with predictable outcomes. Build and maintain lightweight UIs where needed to support trade enquiry, operational workflows, and exception handling.
