Middleware Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain middleware integration solutions connecting enterprise applications, microservices, databases, and third-party systems across hybrid and cloud environments
- Build and manage API integrations, message broker workflows, and event-driven architectures using middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, WSO2, or similar
- Develop and maintain REST, SOAP, and GraphQL API integrations and ensure reliable, secure, and performant data exchange between connected systems
- Configure and manage API gateway platforms including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, traffic management, and API lifecycle management
- Monitor middleware integration health, message throughput, latency, and error rates using observability tools and proactively resolve integration failures and performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to design scalable and resilient integration architectures aligned with business requirements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive middleware integration documentation including solution design documents, data flow diagrams, API specifications, and operational runbooks
- Perform middleware platform upgrades, patches, and capacity planning to ensure system reliability and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex middleware integration issues, message delivery failures, and API errors in production environments in a timely manner
- Ensure all middleware integrations comply with data security, governance, and compliance standards applicable to the organization
