Education, Experience, and Skills Education and Experience To be considered for this role, you'll need a High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED) equivalency and at least two (2) years of experience transcribing medical records. Experience performing history and physicals, discharge summaries, consultations, progress notes, and clinic notes is preferred. Additionally, experience in editing Voice Recognition/Speech Recognition technology is highly valued, and experience on the SpeechMotion platform is a plus. Certifications and Licenses A Certified Medical Transcriptionist certification from a state-accredited program is preferred. Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and application of HIPAA regulations Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values Familiarity with medical transcription guidelines and practices, including the AHDI Book of Style Proven skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, style, and editing Ability to use designated professional reference materials and operate word processing equipment, dictation and transcription equipment, and other specified equipment Excellent eye, hand, and auditory coordination, as well as excellent listening skills Ability to concentrate and work under pressure with time constraints Understanding and application of relevant legal concepts, such as confidentiality Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently What We Offer: Compensation, Benefits, and Career Growth Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $17.20.
