Personal Banker Role & Responsibilities

• Account Opening & Maintenance
  • Handle account opening, account maintenance, and account closure as per bank processes.
  • Verify account opening forms, KYC documents, checklists, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure timely processing of accounts and adherence to defined service standards.
  • Conduct welcome calls and ensure all required approvals and formalities are completed.
  • Address customer queries and instructions related to account services.
  • Maintain high-quality and accurate documentation.
• Coordination & Follow-ups
  • Coordinate proactively with NOC, Product teams, Sales/RMs, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Follow up with Sales RMs for resolution of pending documentation, deferrals, and other account-related issues.
  • Ensure timely closure of outstanding requirements.
• Transaction Handling
  • Scrutinize transaction-related documents against the prescribed branch checklist.
  • Ensure all necessary documents and approvals are available before processing transactions.
  • Handle and resolve customer queries related to transactions.
  • Monitor transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
• Customer Service & Quality
  • Maintain records of customer queries and complaints and analyze them to improve service efficiency.
  • Monitor daily and weekly service and process-related reports and data.
  • Coordinate with Relationship Managers to understand customer service levels and satisfaction.
  • Interact with key customers periodically to gather feedback and address service concerns.
  • Ensure collection and submission of Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) forms.
  • Follow quality standards such as 5S, ISO, and Six Sigma.
• Audit & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all internal bank policies, processes, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain branch compliance and support successful audit outcomes.
  • Address and close audit findings within the required timelines.
  • Follow risk management policies to minimize operational, regulatory, financial, information, reputational, and audit risks.
  • Maintain proper records and provide required information for departmental audits.
• Branch Operations
  • Maintain discipline, punctuality, attendance, and professional grooming standards.
  • Escalate business-impacting issues to the appropriate management team along with possible solutions.
  • Manage local vendors/agencies to ensure smooth execution of branch transactions and activities.
  • Support branch upkeep, maintenance, and cost control.
• Performance & Development
  • Set annual performance goals in consultation with the reporting manager and track progress.
  • Identify personal development and learning requirements and work towards improving relevant skills.
  • Understand and demonstrate competencies required for the role.
  • Stay updated on banking industry developments, processes, regulations, and best practices through continuous learning and professional networking.
