PhD Subject Matter Expert Doctoral Research & Dissertation Support

We are onboarding PhD-qualified professionals for a doctoral support program in collaboration with an international university.

Selected professionals will provide 1:1 academic and research guidance to doctoral learners during their dissertation journey. Mentors will be assigned learners based on their area of expertise and will provide focused support on specific research and dissertation-related requirements.

Areas of Expertise

We are looking for professionals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Quantitative Research & Statistics
• Qualitative Research Methodology
• Academic Writing & Dissertation Editing

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, on-demand guidance to doctoral learners.
• Support learners with dissertation and research-related challenges.
• Guide learners in selecting and applying appropriate research methodologies.
• Provide support with quantitative/statistical analysis and interpretation, where applicable.
• Provide guidance on qualitative research methods and data interpretation, where applicable.
• Review and provide feedback on academic writing, structure, clarity, and scholarly tone.
• Guide learners on dissertation formatting and academic style requirements.
• Tailor explanations and recommendations to the learner's research context.
• Work in alignment with the overall guidance provided by the Dissertation Chair.

Engagement Details

• Each mentor will be assigned approximately 1520 doctoral learners
• Approximately 2 sessions per learner during an 8-month dissertation journey
• Approximately 3040 sessions in total, depending on learner allocation
• Each session will be approximately 60 minutes
• Flexible scheduling based on mentor and learner availability
• Remuneration: 1,0001,200 per call

Candidate Profile

PhD in a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of academic/professional experience in the relevant area.
Strong expertise in the selected specialization.
Experience working with doctoral/M.Phil learners is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain complex research concepts clearly and practically.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
For quantitative/statistics profiles, experience with tools such as SPSS, SmartPLS, and R Commander is preferred.
For dissertation editing profiles, experience with academic style guides such as APA, Chicago, or MLA and doctoral dissertation editing is preferred.
