Role: Practice Director Credit Risk & BFSI Solutions Location: Gurgaon/Mumbai/Bangalore Experience: 815 Years Level: Director The Role We're building AI solutions that change how financial institutions make decisions on credit, risk, and beyond. Not incremental improvements. Genuinely new. Credit Risk is the core of this role. You've lived inside it, built scorecards, owned underwriting policies, and sat across CROs who thought they had it all figured out. That depth is non-negotiable. Insurance and Wealth Tech are growing parts of the practice, you'll bring the same rigour and consultative edge there too. This role offers: Industry-firsts - not features, actual new solution categories Real breadth - banks, NBFCs, fintechs, insurers, wealth platforms, one practice High visibility, high impact - your work shapes strategy and revenue at scale Credit Risk is being rewritten by AI - you'll be the one doing the rewriting What You'll Do Lead Credit Risk Solutions, deeply and end-to-end Build next-gen Credit AI solutions: scorecards, decisioning engines, portfolio risk tools, collections optimisation, early warning systems Challenge client models and strategies with first-principles thinking and offer something demonstrably better Engage across the full lending lifecycle, bureau data, alternative data, and policy design Extend into Insurance & Wealth Tech Insurance underwriting models, risk pricing, claims intelligence, fraud detection Wealth Tech risk profiling, portfolio analytics, AI-driven advisory Own CXO Conversations Hold your own with CROs and CDOs at banks, NBFCs, and fintechs Earn trust fast, challenge thinking with evidence, and find gaps in even the most well-constructed frameworks Run Pilots that Convert Structure proof-of-value engagements from top-tier banks to small fintechs Tailor the approach, execute well, sharpen the narrative, and push through to a win Lead a High-Performance Team Hire sharp people, coach constantly, set a high bar for thinking, not just delivery Be the person the team wants to follow into hard problems What You Bring Education Premier institution IIT, IIM, ISB, DSE, NIT, BITS or equivalent. Postgraduate specialisation in Statistics, Economics, Financial Engineering, or MBA strongly preferred. Must-haves 815 years in BFSI, majority in Credit Risk, you've built scorecards, owned lending policies, and can defend or destroy a risk model in the same conversation Proven CXO-level engagement, not just presenting, but influencing and closing Product company, analytics firm, or consulting background in credit/BFSI solutions Exposure to Insurance or Wealth Tech is a plus, not a requirement Skills Deep understanding of how credit decisions get made - bureau ecosystems, alternative data, LOS platforms, decision engines, and the risk analytics layer that ties it all together Fluent in data science. Hands-on coding not mandatory, but you'll know instantly when a model is wrong Sharp on regulation - RBI, Basel, IFRS 9; IRDAI or SEBI familiarity is a bonus You're the one if. You've spent years inside credit risk and still find it fascinating. You'd rather build something new than manage something old.
