We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead test strategy, automation, and system validation for a highly distributed, Linux-based AI and compute platform.
This remote role is ideal for a senior technical professional who enjoys solving complex, low-level infrastructure challenges. You will own the testing strategy for a custom Linux kernel, develop scalable automation frameworks, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure exceptional platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end test strategy for a custom Linux kernel supporting AI and distributed computing platforms.
Design, develop, and scale automated testing frameworks for performance, reliability, security, and system stability.
Create comprehensive test suites for new Linux kernel enhancements.
Support the migration of existing kernel modifications to newer Linux kernel, virtualization, and virtual machine infrastructure versions.
Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve complex system-level issues in testing and simulated production environments.
Architect and improve build automation, continuous integration, and continuous testing infrastructure.
Perform Linux kernel debugging, system-level validation, performance benchmarking, and root-cause analysis.
Partner with software, systems, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to establish quality standards.
Identify testing gaps, technical risks, and opportunities to improve platform reliability.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineers across the organization.
Required Qualifications
At least 12 years of relevant experience in software engineering, software development, systems engineering, or test automation.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
