Principal Software Engineer - Java, Spring & Angular JS

As a Principal Software Engineer at Fidelity Investments, you will be responsible for applying strong software engineering practices to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve customer-facing software solutions. Your role will also involve supporting your team in adopting best practices to ensure the right product is built efficiently. You will play a key role in influencing software design, promoting engineering best practices, and ensuring operability of technical architecture.

- Actively participate in developing application features and automated tests, including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, and functional tests - Collaborate with team members to improve test coverage, release velocity, and production health - Contribute to entire feature development from concept to deployment, engaging in cross-functional activities - Use your experience to influence better software design, promote proper engineering strategies, and ensure testability and security - Provide technology alternatives for business problems, explaining advantages, problems, and side-effects of each alternative - Partner with Enterprise Architects and project teams to ensure operability of technical architecture - Identify opportunities to introduce emerging technologies for innovative solutions to meet business objectives Qualification Required: - Extensive experience in Java, JavaScript, Spring frameworks, testing frameworks, and tools like Swagger, Git, Jenkins, etc. - Deep knowledge of Azure/AWS offerings, cloud-based solutions design, and microservices architecture - Familiarity with design principles for scalable, low latency, high throughput distributed applications - Proficiency in various design and architectural patterns, CICD practices, code reviews, and unit testing - Hands-on experience with Angular, Oracle, Serverless, SOA, and data integration tools - Exposure to Mainframe/C++ or legacy tech re-platforming projects, US Workplace investing, and Stock Plan services domain is desirable - Effective influencing and communication skills to lead a high-performing technology team - Experience working with Agile teams and ability to motivate and empower team members - Exposure to emerging technologies like Blockchain, AI/ML, Data Analytics/Visualization, and Speech Recognition is advantageous Additional Company Details: Workplace Investing (WI) at Fidelity Investments helps customers save and invest through workplace savings plans, providing integrated employee benefit solutions.
