Role Overview
As the VP in IT Sourcing at State Street's Global Procurement Team, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, analysis, negotiation, and finalization of the end-to-end Procurement process for a diverse range of engagements. You will be supporting the global, regional, and local category sourcing strategies in collaboration with global IT vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct negotiations and manage sometimes large and complex agreements
- Solution requests and issues in a timely manner, and engage in daily problem-solving
- Identify saving opportunities through stakeholder engagement and data analysis
- Negotiate pricing utilizing the five levers that incentivize a supplier
- Identify risks and opportunities related to achieving financial objectives, collaborate with process partners to mitigate risks and realize opportunities
- Contribute significantly to P&L and Cost Avoidance savings for the team
- Analyze data to discover opportunities to reduce the existing cost base
- Coordinate, prepare, and manage RFx/competitive bids to optimize cost and service
- Utilize a white glove approach in stakeholder management to offer advice and guidance within the IT Globalization category
- Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines
- Quickly grasp the State Street end-to-end process and operate within the guidelines to achieve savings and delivery results
- Develop strategies to positively impact and optimize category spend
Qualifications Required
- Demonstrated excellent career development and readiness to progress to the next level
- Minimum of 10 years of strategic sourcing experience in IT-related spend, with referenceable knowledge in professional services
- Strong understanding of all aspects of global IT vendors
- Proven track record of delivering P&L saving projects
- Strong commercial skills with the ability to deliver cost-effective outcomes
- Exceptional negotiation skills with cross-functional influence abilities
- Understanding of best-in-class procurement, risk, Information Security, and payable processes
- Self-starter with the capability to work independently and within a team while managing multiple priorities effectively
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with meticulous attention to detail
- Personal resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to diplomatically manage challenging stakeholders
- Good presentation skills and keen eye for detail are essential
