Product Engineer (Frontend)

As an Underwriting Product Engineer at Swiss Re, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of data-driven decision making in the insurance industry. Your responsibilities will include: - Architecting high-performance analytical applications, dashboards, and components to empower underwriters and steering teams. - Implementing robust standards for version control, testing, and documentation to ensure the quality of work products. - Collaborating with AI/ML engineers and data architects to ensure infrastructure compatibility and downstream usability. - Aligning with the Stargate data platform and following shared development patterns. - Supporting testing and monitoring of deployed tools to maintain reliability and performance. Qualifications required for this role include: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical discipline. - 5+ years of experience in building data-driven applications, dashboards, or analytical tools. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, or R. - Experience with frontend frameworks like React, Plotly, and Dash. - Strong understanding of software engineering principles including version control (Git), modularity, and testing. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, Snowflake, or Palantir. - Experience working with large datasets and integrating with data pipelines. - Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry. - Experience in agile development environments. - Background in data visualization best practices.
