Your job:
This position will join the India underwriting team as a Property Treaty underwriter in Mumbai, and will be responsible for various property underwriting tasks which vary across risk assessment of Property treaty business by natural catastrophe / fire risk, pricing, contractual wording, product/solution development and client engagement.
Underwriting:
Assess Property Treaty accounts and structures using natural catastrophe models and statistical tools. Price programmes and discuss terms and conditions with the client management team. Ensure underwriting excellence across technical pricing and contract wording. Collaborate with internal experts and external stakeholders. Contribute to cross-functional projects, pricing model development, and market research.
Product development:
Proactively explore new business ideas and contribute to product development both in reinsurance and primary insurance; non-traditional product (weather/catastrophe triggers, private-public partnership etc.); consultation for clients to identify pain-points/growth opportunity
Client facing and marketing:
support client management team from technical aspects in dialogue and negotiation with clients/brokers
Your profile:
University degree in natural/computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, economics, finance or equivalent relevant experience/qualifications in insuranceExperience: Minimum 3 to 7 years of professional experience in treaty (re)insurance is preferredExpertise: high degree of analytical and problem solving capabilities with structured and logical thinking; advanced experience in programming would be a plusMarket knowledge: experience in India re/insurance, strong interest in catastrophe insurance and aspiration of career development in treaty underwriting fieldSoft skills: team oriented attitude; demonstrates accountability, integrity, and professionalism, ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively, curiosity; self-motivated in skill developments as well as in identifying problems/opportunities; strengths in relationship management; proactive and innovative mindset .
