The Impact of a Proposal Specialist at Coupa:
As a Proposal Specialist, you will be the driving force behind how Coupa wins new business, shaping the proposals and RFX responses that showcase our Business Spend Management platform to prospective customers around the world. Your writing and coordination will directly influence multimillion dollar deals, helping sales teams put their best foot forward under tight deadlines. By partnering with solutions advisors, technical architects, product teams, legal, and revenue leadership, you will ensure every response is accurate, compelling, and reflective of Coupa's value. Your work brings clarity and confidence to customers evaluating Coupa, ultimately expanding the spend under management that fuels their success.
What You'll Do:
- Independently prepare written responses to RFXs, including but not limited to RFI, RFPs, RFQs, IT/Security Surveys, General Questionnaires, etc. The Sr. Proposal Specialist will independently respond to RFXs with hundreds of detailed functional & technical questions that span over 15 applications.
- Support a full-service and self-service Proposal and RFX Desk for Coupa's global sales organization.
- Lead internal reviews and coordinate preparation of responses to RFX's and provide comprehensive writing support as a lead for any client deliverables.
- Prioritize RFXs and balance high workloads with short deadlines and rapid turnaround times.
- Collaborate with account reps, executives, legal, finance, sales operations, product management, marketing, and engineers to create proposal strategies and win plans.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- Business Spend Management industry experience (e.g., Procurement, Invoicing/AP, Expenses, Sourcing, Contracts, Spend Analytics, etc.), in roles such as Proposal Manager/Specialist, Consultant, Analyst, or Pre-Sales. Minimum of 3 to 5 years.
- Functional knowledge of Business Spend Management applications.
- Technical knowledge of SaaS/cloud computing.
- Independent learner and self-starter.
- Excellent written and editing skills - English required, other languages desired.
- Project coordination skills.
- Technical and business writing skills (whitepapers, proposals, competitive responses).
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
