01Overview
The opportunity:
Join Hitachi Energys India Development Centre (IDC), an R&D organization in Chennai and Bangalore. You will work with global R&D and research centers across 12 countries. You will help design and deliver digital solutions and product capabilities. You will build modern, secure, high-performing user interfaces. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to engineering best practices, and mentor other developers.
How youll make an impact:
Design, write, and optimize complex PostgreSQL queries, including stored functions, triggers, views, joins, and window functions.
Improve database performance through index tuning, query plan analysis, and partitioning when needed.
Build backend services using C#/.NET and/or Python, integrated with PostgreSQL.
Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs using Hasura on top of PostgreSQL.
Build REST and GraphQL endpoints with validations and structured responses.
Apply strong transaction handling, error control, and concurrency management.
Your background:
Education: (to be confirmed)
Experience: 8+ years working with relational databases, with deep expertise in PostgreSQL.
Strong experience with PL/pgSQL, stored routines, triggers, window functions, query tuning, and indexing strategies.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL locking, deadlocks, and concurrency/isolation levels.
5+ years developing backend applications with C#/.NET and/or Python.
2+ years working with GraphQL and Hasura on PostgreSQL.
Strong understanding of REST API design and backend architecture.
Experience using Git and standard development workflows.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
