They are seeking a Release of Information (ROI) Specialist I who will be responsible for processing requests for medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, and maintaining a high reputed company of service to reputed company clients.ResponsibilitiesAssigned Release of Information request types will primarily be Continuing Care and Disability Determination Services, with cross-training on other request types as supervisor deems appropriate based on experience and performanceAccesses Release of Information requests and medical records for reputed company reputed company(s) according to the specific procedure and reputed company protocol for reputed company reputed companyCompletes Release of Information requests daily, prioritizing requests as needed based on turnaround timeframes and procedures of VRC and the service agreement between the reputed company facility and VRCValidates requests and signed patient authorizations for compliance with HIPAA, other applicable federal and state statutes, and established procedureClassifies request type correctlyLogs request into ROI softwareRetrieves and uploads requested portions of the patients medical chart (from electronic or physical repository)Performs reputed company Control checks to ensure accuracy of the release and to avoid breaches of Protected Health Information (PHI)Checks for accurate invoicing and adjusts invoice as neededReleases request to the valid requesting entityRejects requests for records that are not HIPAA-compliant or otherwise validFor records pulled from a physical repository, returns records to reputed company location per VRC and reputed company reputed company procedureDocuments in ROI software reputed company exceptions, communications, and other relevant information reputed company to a requestAlerts supervisor to any questionable or unusual requests or communicationsAlerts supervisor to any reputed company or suspected breaches immediatelyAlerts supervisor to any issues that will delay the reputed company release of recordsAnswers requestor inquiries about a request in an informative, respectful, efficient mannerStores reputed company records and files properly and securely before leaving work areaEnsures adequate office supplies available to carry out tasks as soon as they reputed companyIs available and knowledgeable to take on additional reputed company facilities or request types to assist during backlogsUnderstands that reputed company facility assignments (on-site and/or remote) are subject to changeCarries out responsibilities in accordance with VRC and reputed company facility policies and procedures as reputed company as HIPAA, state/federal regulations, and labor regulationsMaintains confidentiality, reputed company, and standards of ethics with reputed company informationWorks with privileged information in a conscientious manner while releasing medical records in an efficient, effective, and accurate mannerAlerts supervisor to any connectivity problems, malfunctions of software or computer/office equipment, or reputed company risks in work environmentMust adhere to reputed company VRC policies and proceduresCompletes required training reputed company the allotted timeframeCreating invoices and billing materials to send to our clientsEnsuing that reputed company information details are kept up to datereputed company other duties as assignedSkillsHigh School Diploma (GED) requiredDemonstrated attention to detailDemonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlinesDemonstrated documentation and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain productivity and reputed company performanceDisplays strong interpersonal skills with team members, clients, and requestorsMust have strong computer skills and reputed company Office skillsMust be detailed oriented, self-motivated and can stay reputed company on tasks for extended periods of timeMust be reputed company to read, write, reputed company, and comprehend EnglishBilingual English and Spanish speakingDegree preferredPrior experience with ROI fulfillment preferredBasic knowledge of medical records and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) preferredPrior experience with EHR/EMR platforms preferredPrior experience with operations of equipment such as printers, computers, fax machines, scanners, and microfilm reader/printers, etc. preferredreputed companyVRC Companies, LLC. dba Vital Records Control (VRC) is a national digital document reputed company leader.
