They are seeking a Senior Compliance Analyst who will oversee and enhance their regulatory compliance function across various states and lines of business, ensuring adherence to insurance regulations and managing compliance-related projects.ResponsibilitiesServe as a liaison between Nirvana Insurance and the state departments of insuranceOversee vendors who currently assist with various regulatory compliance functionsCreate, maintain, and improve all required Statistical Reporting, DMV Reporting, and other state-required reports for all states and lines of business in which Nirvana operatesManage state surcharge/taxes/fees assessment processResearch and tailor countrywide product changes to meet the regulatory requirements in each stateDraft, review, and implement policyholder notices explaining rate changes, product changes, and/or regulatory changesInterpret state laws and regulatory changes, determine impact to Nirvanas product portfolio and operations, and create recommendations to efficiently comply with the regulationsAssist state and/or reinsurance auditors in retrieving historical rates, rules, underwriting guidelines, policy forms, or agent communicationsReview and analyze state insurance department statutes, regulations, bulletins, etc. to determine new reporting requirements and create recommendations to complyMaintain company licensing and accreditation and prepare supportive filingsAssist in drafting state objection responses and work with various stakeholders to overcome department objections and achieve business objectivesAssist with ensuring the agency and agent appointment process is compliant with state regulationsLead and respond to state data callsAssist with market conduct examsOwn various other Insurance Product projects as they ariseRespond to compliance research requests from across the company to provide regulatory guidance on various initiativesBe a foundational driver of results for a category re-defining insurance companySkills7+ years of experience at a Commercial Property & Casualty insurance carrier within the Product Management, Product Development, State Management, State Filings, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, or related functionsFour (4) year completed degree in a related field or equivalent work experienceAbility to identify, analyze, and solve problems related to regulatory operations activitiesHighly organizedExperience with SQL, SAS, Python or other programming languageExcellent team player who effectively works cross functionallyStrong communication skills, both written & verbalThorough critical thinker who isn't afraid to make decisionsSelf-starter who independently seeks out opportunities to learn & succeedBias-to-action - you're not afraid to get your hands dirty & stretch yourselfOwner mentality - take accountability for your actions & resultsSuccessfully able to work in high-growth & ambiguous start-up environmentsAssociate in Regulation and Compliance (ARC) and/or Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred but not requiredBenefitsCompetitive salary & equityMedical, dental & vision insurance401k with company matchUnlimited PTOWork from home friendlyCompany OverviewNirvana Insurance offers A-rated commercial trucking insurance using telematics to enhance safety and reduce costs.
