The Research Associate (Level A) in aeroacoustics is expected to contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their particular field of research. This role will support a Defence Science & Technology Group (DSTG) research agreement concerning the measurement, prediction and analysis of flow generated noise. The Research Associate reports to Danielle Moreau and has no direct reports. The Research Associate will be an Embedded Researcher based with DSTG at Fishermans Bend (Melbourne) or Eveleigh (Sydney). Applicants must be Australian citizens to be considered for this position. Skills & Experience A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.Experience in signal processing and analysis of experimental flow and acoustic data, with a sound understanding of experimental measurement techniques in aeroacoustics, turbulence, and/or wind tunnel testing.Experience in numerical modelling tools for fluid flow and acoustic analysis.Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
