Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to undertake end-to-end performance engineering for web applications and business-critical systems.
The role involves designing, developing, executing, and maintaining robust performance and load testing solutions across multiple environments and software versions.
The ideal candidate will handle complex performance testing scenarios, ensure scripts are hardened for continuous execution, and support less-experienced engineers through technical guidance and best practices.
As part of Agile feature teams, the role may also require occasional manual testing to meet delivery milestones and ensure overall quality.
Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, deploy, and support load and performance testing solutions based on business and non-functional requirements.
- Build and maintain robust, well-hardened performance test scripts that can run continuously across multiple environments and software versions.
- Define performance testing strategies, including tool selection, volumetric analysis, scenario design, and execution planning.
- Execute load, stress, and endurance tests, analyze results, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Work with Agile feature teams and support sporadic manual testing efforts as required to meet project milestones.
- Participate in user story and requirement reviews, providing early input on performance and non-functional requirements.
- Log, track, and manage defects using defect tracking tools such as JIRA or TFS.
- Support and mentor junior performance engineers by providing coding guidelines, technical support, and best practices.
- Ensure performance engineering standards and good practices are consistently followed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and organizational objectives.
Required Skillset :
- 6 - 8 years of hands-on experience as a Performance Test Engineer.
- Strong expertise in performance and load testing of web, web services, and client-server applications.
- Extensive hands-on experience with JMeter for test execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Java for performance test scripting and custom development.
- Experience in testing multi-tier architectures (web, application, database layers) with solid debugging capabilities.
- Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, test planning, and execution strategies.
- Good working knowledge of databases (MSSQL) and backend validation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and QA tools such as JIRA or TFS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently, adapt quickly to complex environments, and collaborate effectively with global teams.
Nice to Have :
- Experience with commercial performance testing tools such as NeoLoad.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript.
- Experience using Git/Bitbucket for source control. .
