Role Description The Sales Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Shillong. The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets for general insurance products through effective planning, prospecting, and relationship management. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and engaging potential customers, managing existing client relationships, guiding them on suitable insurance solutions, and ensuring timely policy renewals. The role involves coordinating with internal teams for underwriting, claims, and customer service, as well as tracking sales performance, preparing reports, and implementing local sales strategies. The Sales Manager is expected to build and lead a high-performing sales team, provide regular coaching, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably in insurance or financial services. Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze sales data, prepare reports, and use basic MS Office tools. Solid communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in English and local languages as applicable. Experience in team leadership, target setting, and performance monitoring. Knowledge of general insurance products and regulatory guidelines is an advantage. Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are a plus. Capacity to work on-site in Shillong, with readiness for field visits and client meetings.
