Role: Senior Backend Engineer AI-Native Care Orchestration Platform
Location: Pune (Remote with 4-hour overlap with Eastern Time Zone)

Healthcare is moving out of hospitalsinto homes, virtual care, and distributed models. The technology to run this shift doesn't really exist yet. Azodha is solving that. We sit on top of existing systems and coordinate what actually makes care delivery workpeople, workflows, logistics, and datain real time. The result is a single system that replaces fragmented tools and manual coordination. We're not another point solution. We're building the operating layer for decentralized care.
What this role is really about
You'll be building backend systems used directly by clinicians and care teamswhere scheduling, coordination, and data exchange need to work reliably across fragmented systems. This isn't just about writing clean code. You'll own features end-to-end, make real infrastructure decisions, and work closely with the founder/CEO to shape both the product and the engineering culture.

What you'll work on
Backend systems that hold up in the real world
Design, develop, and scale backend services using Node.js and TypeScriptBuild REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints powering web and mobile applicationsModel and manage data using PostgreSQL, Prisma, and TypeORMWork with event-driven architectures for coordination, notifications, and integrationsData that drives real-time decisions
Design and implement data pipelines using tools like Airbyte, dbt, and Apache Airflow / AWS GlueDesign and optimize data warehousing solutionsEnable systems to react in real timenot just reportSystems that don't get to go down
Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure including ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, and LambdaOwn CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production reliabilityParticipate in on-call rotations to ensure platform stabilityBuild for environments where failures have real-world consequencesAI as part of the system (not a side feature)
Contribute to AI-led workflowsautomation, orchestration, and data flowsStay current with backend and AI trends, and bring new thinking to the teamCollaboration & craft
Conduct code reviews and drive engineering best practicesMentor junior developers with constructive, grounded technical feedbackWork closely with product, QA, frontend, and integrations teamsOwn features from initial planning through delivery and maintenance
What we're looking for
4+ years of hands-on backend experience with Node.js and TypeScriptStrong experience with AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and infrastructure managementProven experience with data pipeline toolsAirbyte, dbt, Apache Airflow, or AWS GlueStrong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and relational databases (PostgreSQL)Experience with ORMs like Prisma or SequelizeComfortable working with event-driven architectures and message queuing systemsExperience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testingStrong track record of end-to-end ownership of product featuresAbility to reason about systems holistically, not just individual servicesExcellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable working async across time zones
Preferred (good to have, not blockers)
Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormationContainer orchestration experience with Kubernetes / DockerExposure to disaster recovery and backup strategies in AWSExperience with GCP or AzureExposure to healthcare data (HL7 / FHIR) or regulated environmentsContributions to open-source backend projects
