Job Description

Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Deutsche Bank, you will be an integral part of the Technology, Data, and Innovation (TDI) strategy focused on enhancing engineering expertise and modernizing the bank's IT infrastructure with long-term investments in cloud computing. Your primary responsibility will be to work within the Google Cloud adoption program, re-platforming and re-architecting solutions onto the cloud. You will collaborate with various teams to define and execute scalable and compliant infrastructure strategies across multiple cloud environments, providing technical leadership within delivery pods and contributing to the improvement of GCP engineering capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and build application architectures for re-platform or re-architect strategies, implementing blueprints and patterns for common application architectures. - Collaborate across TDI areas such as Cloud Platform, Security, Data, Risk & Compliance to create optimal solutions, increase re-use, and share knowledge. - Drive optimizations in the cloud SDLC process for productivity improvements, including tools and techniques. - Enable the adoption of practices like SRE and DevSecOps to minimize manual tasks, increase automation, and stability. - Implement Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and governance frameworks for self-service infrastructure provisioning. - Collaborate with security, risk, and audit teams to enforce cloud compliance and policy-as-code. - Mentor and lead a team of cloud engineers, fostering innovation, automation, and reliability. - Contribute to the TDI-wide cloud governance board and cloud community of practice.

Qualifications Required

- Hands-on experience in implementing applications on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and utilizing major components. - Knowledge of cloud native application architectures such as Microservices, Service Mesh, or Data Streaming applications. - Strong understanding of DevSecOps, container orchestration, and GitOps principles. - Proficiency in at least one major public cloud platform (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable). - Experience in Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning at scale. - Familiarity with tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Vault, and Terraform Enterprise/Cloud. - Solid knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, workload identity federation, and encryption standards.
