Role Overview
At Oliver Wyman DNA, as a Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist, you will partner with clients to tackle challenging strategic business issues using analytics, technology, and industry expertise. Your role involves driving digital transformation, creating customer-centric solutions, and optimizing operations for future growth. Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside Oliver Wyman consulting teams and partners to engage with global clients, understand their business challenges, and propose data-driven solutions
- Analyze large-scale data sets and develop models to address core business problems
- Collaborate with partners and principals to create proposals showcasing data science and analytics capabilities
- Refine and explain model insights and architecture to guide stakeholders through the model-building process
- Advocate best practices in modeling and code hygiene
- Lead the development of proprietary statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, assets, and analytical tools for various projects
- Travel to clients' locations worldwide as necessary to understand their issues and deliver suitable solutions in collaboration with them
- Stay updated on emerging state-of-the-art modeling and data science techniques in your field
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in a quantitative discipline from a top academic program (e.g., Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering)
- Prior experience in data science, machine learning, and analytics
- Strong passion for problem-solving through big data and analytics
- Methodical approach to solutions with a focus on impact
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent presentation skills to effectively convey findings, results, and strategic insights
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (especially Python), machine learning frameworks, and statistical principles
- Familiarity with cloud storage, big data handling, and computational frameworks
- Desired: Experience in the Financial Services sector and contributions to the Open-Source community
