01Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth primary research on industries and companies, utilizing expert networks, earnings calls, company visits, and industry conferences.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast company earnings, assess valuation, and model various business scenarios.
- Integrate top-down macroeconomic analysis and broader industry trends into bottom-up security recommendations.
- Produce comprehensive written research reports and investment theses to support stock rankings and portfolio decisions.
- Employ a wide range of valuation methodologies to determine intrinsic value and investment risk.
Investment Partnership & Influence:
- Actively participate in daily market meetings and team strategy discussions, contributing a strong, evidence-based point of view.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers to assist in portfolio construction, sector weighting, and risk management.
- Clearly and persuasively communicate research ideas and recommendations to influence investment decisions across the platform.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership:
- Build and maintain relationships with company management teams within the covered sector(s).
- Represent the firm at sell-side events, company meetings, and industry conferences.
- Travel within Europe (and potentially beyond) with investment teams to conduct marketing activities and meet with clients and institutional partners.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the research process.
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
Experience: Considerable and proven buy-side equity research experience within an Asset Management firm, with a demonstrable track record of generating alpha.
Sector Expertise: Deep knowledge and research experience within the Banking sector is required.
Analytical Rigor: Significant proficiency in financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and valuation. Advanced proficiency in Excel and database management tools.
Communication: Sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to influence Portfolio Managers and senior stakeholders through compelling storytelling and robust analysis.
Credentials: CFA charter holder, ACA qualified, or a relevant MBA from a leading institution.
