Overview

As a Senior Financial Accountant at ICON plc, you will play a crucial role in the Project Finance team, specifically focusing on Financial Planning & Analysis. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading the PFA team to deliver high-quality results and ensuring the team operates as a centre of excellence. - Recruiting and onboarding talented individuals for your team in alignment with business requirements. - Providing comprehensive training to new team members and ensuring they are integrated successfully. - Ensuring 100% accuracy in reports generated by your team and delivering them on time. - Cultivating and promoting the 'Own It @ ICON Culture' along with the ICON four Values. In terms of project ownership, you will be responsible for: - Managing the entire study process by analyzing financial and operational metrics such as FTE utilization, invoicing, financial KPIs, and more. - Reporting study health metrics to the Vice President of the study and collaborating with the Project Manager to address any adverse metrics. - Providing monthly and quarterly reports to the sponsor, including budgeted and forecasted fees, pass-through expenses, milestones achieved, and more. - Demonstrating leadership qualities, teamwork, quick decision-making, and effectiveness in project management. Your experience, skills, and knowledge requirements include: - Minimum 2 years of experience in team management and conducting yearly appraisals. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. - Solid financial understanding with exposure to project revenue business. - Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial systems like Oracle, Hyperion, etc. - Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to influence others. - Desire to continue financial education or relevant certifications (CA, CPA, CMA, MBA, etc.). - Previous experience in financial analysis and planning is preferred. Educational requirements for this role include: - A completed Bachelor's degree or its international equivalent. - Professional Accountancy Qualification (CA, CMA, CPA, CWA) is mandatory. - Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
