Key Responsibilities
**
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Own the design and implementation of REST APIs across multiple services.
- Optimize database queries, schemas, and transactions, particularly in MySQL.
- Implement background jobs such as Cron/schedulers and integrate them with external systems.
- Ensure system reliability through JUnit tests, integration tests, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with DevOps to enhance AWS deployments and scaling, including load balancers and RDS. Instrument and monitor services using OpenTelemetry, ELK, and other observability tools.
- Participate in architectural discussions, performance reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Mentor junior developers and ensure adherence to best practices.

Qualifications Required
**
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in MySQL performance tuning.
- Experience in designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, load balancers).
- Understanding of distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring.
- Experience with code reviews, mentoring, and guiding technical discussions.
- Proficient with Git workflows, including feature branching, merging, resolving conflicts, and using pull requests effectively.
- Comfortable working with Jira for task management.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and release processes.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience with message queues or streaming platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with security best practices for backend services.
