Overview
As a Senior Major Incident Manager with experience in the Banking/Finance Domain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of incident response and management within a 24/7 rotational shift environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating the incident response team during critical service disruptions
- Supporting a computer operations environment that meets service level agreements and availability targets
- Making quick decisions about escalation and prioritization
- Ensuring proper documentation of incident timeline and actions taken
- Managing the bridge call or incident war room
- Providing regular status updates to leadership and affected business units
- Coordinating with external vendors or third-party providers if needed
In terms of prevention and preparation, you will be expected to:
- Develop and maintain incident management procedures and playbooks
- Ensure incident response plans are up-to-date and tested regularly
- Train team members on incident response procedures
- Review incident patterns to identify systemic issues
- Work with teams to implement preventive measures
- Maintain contact lists and escalation procedures
- Coordinate regular disaster recovery and business continuity exercises
- Recommend process improvements based on lessons learned
- Update documentation and procedures based on experience
Qualifications required for this role include:
- 7-11 years of experience in Major Incident Management for UK/US clients
- Hands-on experience in the Banking/Finance Domain
- Ability to manage global incidents across multiple data center environments
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Willingness to work 24/7, including night shifts
- Good at multi-tasking
