As a Manufacturing Engineer at Emerson, your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production of high-quality products. Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Process Design and Improvement:
- Analyzing existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement
- Designing and implementing new manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Design and development of tools and fixtures
- Conducting time studies and process capability analysis to identify bottlenecks
- Implementing lean manufacturing principles to streamline production
- Equipment Selection and Maintenance:
- Selecting and specifying new manufacturing equipment based on production needs
- Supervising the installation and maintenance of production machinery
- Solving equipment malfunctions and coordinating repairs
- Quality Control:
- Establishing and maintaining quality standards throughout the process
- Implementing quality control procedures and monitoring product quality metrics
- Investigating and resolving quality issues
- Cost Optimization:
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures in the manufacturing process
- Analyzing production costs reduction
- Handling inventory levels to minimize carrying costs
