Role Description The Senior Medical Coding Analyst is a full-time, remote role responsible for performing advanced medical coding activities to support accurate billing, compliance, and revenue integrity. In this role, the analyst reviews clinical documentation, assigns appropriate codes, and validates coding accuracy in alignment with regulatory and payer guidelines. The position involves collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to clarify documentation, resolve coding discrepancies, and support audit findings. The analyst will contribute to process improvements, develop coding best practices, and assist in training team members on coding standards and updates. Ongoing responsibilities include monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining current knowledge of coding systems, and generating reports that support operational and financial performance. Qualifications - Candidates should possess strong Medical Coding and Coding Experience, including advanced proficiency with relevant coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS). Candidates should possess knowledge of Health Information Management principles and practices to support accurate documentation, compliance, and data integrity.Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Medical Terminology to interpret clinical documentation and apply correct codes.Candidates should possess RHIT or equivalent professional certification, or other relevant coding credentials (e.g., CCS, CPC) preferred.Candidates should possess experience with electronic health records, billing systems, and payer requirements, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.Candidates should possess a background in healthcare or health information management, with prior experience in senior or lead coding roles; a related associate or bachelors degree is preferred. .
