01Responsibilities
Provide support for the Enterprise digital product team on optum.com, and other Optum sites as neededCreate UI Design, UI components, and Visual Design elements as requiredPrepare and optimize digital imagery for web experiences, including cropping, resizing, color correction, retouching, background cleanup, and file optimizationExplore emerging opportunities in the digital healthcare space and contribute ideas as neededInterpret insights (analytics, VoC, market feedback etc.) to inform design decisions and improve experiencesContinually advocate for the user and ensure there is a shared understanding of the problems we are solvingApply and contribute to the UI Design System and reusable componentsPartner with product, engineering, and content teams to deliver high-quality design solutionsParticipate in design critiques and incorporate feedback from stakeholdersTake ownership of UI design execution across features or workstreamsEnsure designs are aligned with usability, accessibility (A11y), and technical feasibility considerationsMaintain a design culture of simple, seamless interfaces and componentsCollaborate with other designers to ensure consistency and quality across experiencesSupport research efforts and incorporate findings into design improvementsEffectively communicate design ideas, approach, and progress with stakeholders and team membersWork across multiple projects and balance competing prioritiesLeverage AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve research, ideation, documentation, and design workflows while helping identify opportunities to increase team effectivenessMentor and provide constructive feedback to other designers, helping elevate design quality and foster a collaborative learning cultureCollaborate effectively with globally distributed teams, including partners across multiple time zones, while communicating design decisions clearly and confidentlyPartner closely with engineering throughout implementation to ensure high-quality execution through design reviews and quality assuranceComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience7+ years of hands-on experience with UX/UI, interaction design, or visual design 7+ years of experience working with multiple teams and competing priorities 7+ years incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer) 7+ years of experience with industry design tools (Figma, Figjam, Figma Make, Adobe Creative Suite) 3+ years of experience working in cross functional teams 3+ years of experience building and/or utilizing personas to inform design decisions 3+ years of experience presenting design work to stakeholders Experience applying and contributing to design systems and component libraries Solid understanding of visual design principles, interaction design, and usability best practices Proven ability to clearly communicate design decisions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Experience working in a large corporate or matrixed organization Experience using AI-enabled tools to enhance research, ideation, documentation, or design workflows Healthcare experience. Experience designing products in similarly complex or regulated industries including insurance, financial services, retail, telecommunications, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or enterprise softwareFamiliarity with Agile teams, including sprint planning and collaboration with product and engineering Proven ability to contribute in a fast-paced, complex environment with evolving priorities Demonstrated solid attention to detail and commitment to high-quality design execution Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively .
