Key Responsibilities

- Underwrite and price complex risks within designated specialty insurance lines (e.g., professional liability, cyber insurance, D&O). - Evaluate applications, assess exposures, and determine the acceptability of risks based on company guidelines and market conditions. - Develop and negotiate appropriate policy terms, conditions, and pricing to achieve profitable results. - Maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and other distribution partners. - Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and legal departments to manage risk and ensure policy compliance. - Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and provide insights for strategy development. - Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks relevant to specialty lines. - Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to the team's technical development. - Ensure adherence to all underwriting policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. - Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines and appetite statements. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. - Professional insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are highly desirable. - Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in insurance underwriting, with a strong focus on specialty lines. - Proven expertise in evaluating and pricing complex risks within specific specialty insurance markets. - Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. - Strong understanding of insurance principles, financial analysis, and risk management. - Exceptional negotiation and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload in a remote environment. - Proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office Suite. - A proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
