Senior VDI Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Senior VDI Operations Engineer (Citrix & VMware) to join our global infrastructure team and support the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing virtual desktop services. As a Senior VDI Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments across Citrix, VMware, and Omnissa platforms. You will work closely with global teams to ensure service stability, resolve complex technical issues, and contribute to continuous service improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport, administer, and optimise Citrix and VMware VDI environments.Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and service-related incidents.Manage Incident, Request, Change, and Problem records in line with ITIL processes.Support security compliance activities and remediation initiatives.Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and operations teams.Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.Participate in major incident management and service continuity activitiesJob Requirements Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD), Citrix Cloud, StoreFront, Studio, Director, and MCS.Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Omnissa Horizon.Experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.Understanding of ITSM processes and ITIL-based service delivery.PowerShell scripting skills and an interest in automation.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.Professional proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage.Company description SoftwareOne is a global provider of software and cloud solutions.
