Role Overview
As an SDE-2 on the Music Search team at Amazon Music, you will be responsible for designing and delivering systems that enhance how millions of customers discover music, podcasts, and audio content. You will play a crucial role in improving the search ecosystem, including query understanding, ranking, indexing, and retrieval, by leveraging Generative AI and LLM-driven experiences. Your work will contribute to creating rapid, relevant, and delightful search experiences for users globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design and delivery of systems that power music discovery for millions of customers
- Collaborate with applied scientists, product managers, and partner teams to enhance search experiences
- Drive technical decisions, write high-quality production code, and uphold engineering excellence
- Build and operate distributed systems at scale on large-scale distributed infrastructure running on AWS
- Demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations, decompose complex problems, and write reliable, maintainable code
- Engage in technical discussions, encourage diverse ideas, and take ownership from design through production operations
Qualifications Required
- Strong foundation in object-oriented design with Java or Python
- Hands-on experience in building and operating distributed systems at scale
- Familiarity with search technologies, web services, and Linux-based development environments
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred
