01Overview
Solution Designer -
Main Responsibilities
Lead solution design for complex business capabilities across microservices, APIs, data flows, and enterprise integrationsElicit and analyse business, functional, and non-functional requirements; translate them into clear solution blueprintsProduce high-quality design artefacts: context diagrams, sequence diagrams, data models, API contracts, integration patterns, and decision recordsDefine target-state and transition-state architectures in partnership with Enterprise / Domain ArchitectsEnsure designs meet non-functional requirements: security, resilience, performance, scalability, observability, and operabilityDesign integrations with upstream/downstream systems (ERP, AP, tax/compliance, document stores, event streams, and third-party platforms)Guide engineering teams through design walkthroughs, design reviews, and implementation trade-offsIdentify risks, gaps, and dependencies early; propose pragmatic mitigation and sequencingAlign solutions to Cloud First, API-first, event-driven, and microservices patterns where appropriateContribute to estimation, delivery planning, and technical readiness for releasesMentor developers and analysts on design thinking, patterns, and documentation qualityCollaborate with Security, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders to embed controls into the designFulfil other tasks as assigned by your People Leader and/or authorised representative of NAB Innovation Centre India from time to time

Proven ability to design end-to-end solutions spanning UI/API, services, data, and integrationsStrong experience with microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and integration patterns (sync/async, pub-sub, orchestration vs choreography)Solid understanding of Java / Spring Boot (or equivalent enterprise stack) and how designs map to implementable codeExperience with cloud platforms preferably AWS and Cloud First design considerations (compute, networking, storage, IAM, managed services)Strong modelling and documentation skills (UML / C4 / sequence / data flow); comfortable using tools such as Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, PlantUML, or similarExperience with OpenAPI / Swagger-first API design and contract testing strategiesExperience designing for security and compliance (authN/authZ, least privilege, auditability, data protection)Ability to engage stakeholders at business and technical levels; strong facilitation and communication skillsAgile delivery experience; ability to work in iterative increments while protecting architectural integrityTertiary qualification in a technology-related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Nice to have Banking / financial services domain experience (procurement, invoicing, AP, payments, GST/tax, or similar)
Exposure to domain-driven design (DDD), CQRS, and event sourcing conceptsExperience with Kafka / messaging platforms and enterprise integration middlewareFamiliarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and operational runbooks from a design-for-ops perspective .
