Job Title: Specialist I - Software Engineering Role Summary
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to support the Property Technologies (Smart Buildings) portfolio. This role will be responsible for designing and guiding technology solutions that support property technology applications, integrations, data processing, and operational platforms.
The Solutions Architect will work closely with business teams, product owners, developers, cloud teams, data teams, and support teams to translate business needs into simple, scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
The role requires strong experience in cloud-based application architecture, backend systems, APIs, databases, and modern engineering practices. The key technologies used include Python, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities
Design high-level and detailed solution architecture for PropTech applications and platforms.
Understand business requirements and convert them into practical technical designs.
Provide architecture guidance for applications, integrations, data flows, and backend services.
Support solutions built using Python, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and PostgreSQL.
Define scalable and reliable patterns for data processing, workflow orchestration, and system integrations.
Review technical designs and provide guidance to development teams.
Ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, reusable, and aligned with Prologis technology standards.
Identify technical risks, dependencies, gaps, and possible mitigation options.
Support API design, database design, cloud architecture, and integration planning.
Work with cross-functional teams including business users, product owners, developers, QA, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams.
Create and maintain architecture diagrams, solution design documents, and technical decision records.
Support production readiness by considering performance, monitoring, logging, error handling, and supportability.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, or Senior Technical Lead.
Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture, preferably on AWS.
Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Python.
Experience with serverless architecture using AWS Lambda.
Experience with workflow orchestration using AWS Step Functions.
Good knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
Experience designing backend services, APIs, integrations, and data flows.
Good understanding of application security, access control, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Ability to create clear architecture diagrams and technical documentation.
Solid problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Preferred Skills
Experience in Property Technologies (Smart Buildings), logistics real estate domain , property operations, or enterprise application portfolios.
Experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, RDS, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, IAM, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
Experience with REST APIs and third-party system integrations.
Understanding of monitoring, logging, ing, and observability tools.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and production support processes.
Knowledge of data quality, error handling, retry mechanisms, and operational reporting.
