SQL / Python Analytics Manager

As a Senior Data Scientist at the Enabling Advanced Analytics team in Business Excellence within P&C Re Operations, you will be responsible for solving high-priority business problems using data-driven approaches and advanced analytics. Based in Bangalore, you will collaborate closely with the Advanced Analytics Lead, team members, IT/D&T, and senior business stakeholders. Your role will involve independently owning and delivering complex analytics initiatives, contributing to the evolution of the analytics and AI platform, and scaling solutions with measurable business impact.

- Translate business needs into well-defined analytical problem statements and develop data-driven solutions. - Apply statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques to generate business insights. - Deliver end-to-end data science solutions, from PoC development to production deployment, collaborating with business and IT teams. - Identify data gaps and suggest improvements to data collection processes. - Take ownership of projects, effectively manage stakeholders, and deliver innovative solutions.

- Master's degree in a quantitative field (STEM, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar). - Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in building data science solutions. - Strong foundation in statistics and probability. - Practical expertise in classical machine learning techniques, such as parametric algorithms (linear/logistic regression), ensemble methods (decision trees, random forests, XGBoost/LightGBM), clustering (k-means, hierarchical clustering), and dimensionality reduction (PCA), including experience in feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and model evaluation. - Hands-on experience with NLP and applied Generative AI use cases (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG). - Proficiency in Python and Spark (PySpark) with experience in common ML/AI libraries. - Preferred: SQL, Python, Power BI insurance/reinsurance domain exposure. Additional Company Details: The Enabling Advanced Analytics team plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining the analytics landscape for functions such as Underwriting Operations, Technical Accounting & Claims Operations, Claims Management, In-force Management, and Client Audit. The team focuses on generating actionable business insights through advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven solutions, serving as a bridge between business and IT.
