Overview
As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in the Cards/Payments domain, your role will involve working closely with development teams, managing a POD, and delivering results. You must have experience in Agile methodologies, as well as previous exposure to the Banking/Technology/Software industry. Having an MBA degree is considered a plus, and certifications such as SAFe are also beneficial. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Consulting with client stakeholders to understand business drivers and translate them into functional and non-functional requirements
- Collaborating with Product Managers to evaluate the Product Roadmap and identify features for development
- Leading robust inceptions to identify scope, value, and solutions, and managing prioritized actionable backlogs
- Eliciting, capturing, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Attending key meetings such as standups, requirement grooming sessions, and retrospectives
- Identifying and escalating blockers that may impact project variables
- Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with business and technology teams
- Demonstrating knowledge of Agile tools like Confluence and JIRA
In terms of domain knowledge, you should have experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Card Payments value chain including Card Issuance, Merchant Acquiring, Fraud & Dispute Management, and more
- Banking areas such as Customer Acquisition & Onboarding, AML, Fraud Prevention, and Disputes Management
- Payments lifecycle from Front to Back-office processing, Payment Authorization, Clearing & Settlement
- Payments message types such as SWIFT, ISO20022, and proprietary messages
Other nice-to-have skill sets and experiences include:
- Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining trusted relationships with client stakeholders
- Knowledge Management: Assisting in creating client-related materials and knowledge artifacts
- Thought Leadership: Researching industry trends and contributing to consulting mindshare
- Business Development: Supporting RFI/RFP responses and service line development
- Practice Development: Drawing conclusions from industry trends to support new service offerings
- People Management: Actively supporting recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of junior associates
- Industry Awareness: Staying updated on the latest industry trends and regulations
