01Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize large-scale SQL Server environments **********)
Design and manage Always On Availability Groups, replication, log shipping, and failover clusters
Perform query optimization, index tuning, and execution plan analysis
Implement backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, and HA configurations
Automate routine maintenance using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Azure Automation
Migrate and manage databases on Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL on Azure VMs
Monitor performance using SQL Server DMVs, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics
Ensure security, compliance, and audit controls (RBAC, TDE, auditing)
Collaborate with application teams to review data models, stored procedures, and performance baselines
Support DevOps with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
Skills & Experience Required:
Technical Expertise:
5-7 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration
Deep understanding of T-SQL, query tuning, and execution plans
Proven experience in managing HA/DR environments (Always On, replication)
Experience with Azure Data Services:
Azure SQL DB / MI
Azure Data Factory (basic integration)
Azure Monitor / Log Analytics
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform is a plus)
Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
Must be willing to work in shifts
Tools & Monitoring:
SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
Redgate / SolarWinds / SentryOne
Azure Portal, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, SQL Insights
